Steamships not in excess of fifteen tons gross tonnage that are not passenger steamships are exempt from the provisions of this Part relating to annual inspection, except that such steamships, if fitted with a boiler operating at a pressure in excess of 103 kPa, are subject to inspection of their boilers, life-saving equipment and systems for precautions against fire as provided in subsection (2).
