Versions of s. 514(1)

The powers of a naval court under section 510 include the power to send to Canada an offender sentenced by the court to punishment for the purpose of being there imprisoned, and the court may take the same steps, and for the purpose has the same powers, with respect to the orders that may be given to masters of ships, as a consular officer has for the purpose of sending an offender for trial under section 615 and subsections (2), (3), (5) and (6) of that section apply with such modifications as the circumstances require.
